The origin of these sturdy, striped fabrics got lost over the centuries of Busatti history. But they were captured through the tales of rural housewives in the Tuscan hills who required particularly long lasting heavy duty fabrics.

That is how the Melograno fabric was born. The popularity was such that since then sales spread far beyond our hills and valleys. Evidence can be found in some local paintings at the end of 1800’s on kitchen towels and aprons.
